Mario is here showing us one of his fields of selectively bred corn. He
worked for the state as well as the University of Guadalajara. His
responsibilities included determining which selectively bred strains of
corn had the greatest crop yield per acre of land. In this way the
Mexican
government is trying to limit further farmland aquisition by people exploiting
pristine habitats.
