The herbaceous Pickerelweed, Pontederia cordata, is a common in the Bald Cypress swamps of south Florida and it is found in still or slow
moving fresh water throughout the eastern United States.
This emergent plant is usually rooted in soft mud below shallow water with its leaves and flowers held above the water.
This perennial which can reach 122cm in height.
