Water Conservation Area 3A

Apple Snail (perhaps Pomacea paludosa) eggs.
Jen, Jeff, and I came across these while surveying for wading birds.
Apple snails eat Sawgrass.
These snails respire with gills in the water but have a primitave lung for doing so above water.
Apple Snails prefer specific water levels and as a result Snail Kites and Limpkins, two of their major predators, often move in response to
fluctuating water levels in the Everglades.
